Her Majesty the Queen

Buckingham Palace has announced that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
passed away peacefully at Balmoral today, Thursday 8th September 2022.

The Parish Council and the people of Lamerton are deeply saddened to hear the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96 at Balmoral. During her long reign she has seen good times and bad but was always dedicated to the nation and for most of us she was the only Monarch that we have known. We are deeply indebted to her for the stability she has given to the nation.

Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time and her loss will be deeply felt by all.

The public is invited to attend a memorial service in her memory on St Peters Church, Lamerton on Sunday 18th at 11am.

Floral tributes may be laid at the war memorial.
